Lifestyle varies from major-city career opportunities and public transport to coastal living, outdoor activities and a strong sports culture. Skilled professionals usually need an appropriate work visa, such as employer sponsorship through the Skills in Demand pathway, a skilled independent or state-nominated visa, or another eligible visa category. Requirements depend on occupation, qualifications, English ability, experience and points or sponsorship. Relocating involves arranging health insurance, accommodation, tax registration and banking. Australia is geographically vast, so researching commuting distances, climate and local housing costs is important before choosing a city.
