Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, well-connected island with opportunities in education, healthcare, technology, finance, logistics, tourism, and professional services. English is widely used at work, and the culture is multicultural, orderly, and generally welcoming, although workplaces can be structured and performance-focused. Public transport is efficient, housing ranges from public flats to private apartments, and daily life is convenient but relatively expensive. Food, shopping, parks, beaches, and cultural districts provide varied leisure options despite the city’s small size. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and employer requirements. Bring certified documents and check current Ministry of Manpower rules before relocating. Novena is centrally located and well served by the MRT, hospitals, shops, and food outlets. Health insurance, rental costs, and visa conditions should be reviewed carefully before accepting an offer.
