Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in technology, research, engineering, finance, healthcare, logistics, education, and advanced manufacturing. The city is multicultural, safe, efficient, and English is widely used at work. Life is convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable services, shopping, diverse food, and easy access to parks and waterfront areas. Housing is the main expense, especially near central districts; shared accommodation or living farther from campus can reduce costs. International employees generally need an appropriate work pass, commonly an Employment Pass, S Pass, or work permit, arranged with employer support. Researchers may also qualify under university or research-institution employment arrangements. Before relocating, confirm the contract, pass eligibility, insurance, tax obligations, and housing terms. NTU is in the west of Singapore, with public transport links to other parts of the island.
