Research Engineer (Embedded AI/ML - MetaSense Project)

Job Description

This role supports the MetaSense Project by designing, developing, and testing embedded artificial intelligence and machine-learning systems. Candidates are generally expected to hold a degree, and preferably a master's, in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Practical experience with embedded systems, edge AI, machine learning, sensor integration, and programming in C/C++ or Python is likely required. Familiarity with model optimisation, hardware-software integration, real-time systems, and tools such as TensorFlow or PyTorch would be valuable. The successful candidate should be comfortable conducting independent research, documenting results, solving technical problems, collaborating with academic and industry partners, and contributing to publications, prototypes, and project milestones.
