Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in education, technology, finance, healthcare, communications, logistics and advanced manufacturing. Professional roles are concentrated around the city centre, one-north, Jurong and business districts, with NTU located in the west. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally safe, with English widely used in workplaces and daily life. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and nearby regional travel. Housing ranges from shared rooms and condominiums to government-built HDB flats; rents can be high, especially near central areas. Foreign professionals usually require an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, while other work passes apply depending on qualifications and salary. Candidates should confirm current Ministry of Manpower requirements before relocating. Plan for healthcare, transport, insurance and school costs if moving with family. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain, so lightweight clothing and practical footwear are advisable.
