Research Fellow (Civil Infrastructure Monitoring Using Distributed Sensing)

Job Description

The Research Fellow will conduct research on civil infrastructure monitoring using distributed sensing technologies, likely involving optical fibre sensing, data analysis, structural health monitoring, laboratory testing, field investigations, and numerical modelling. Candidates are generally expected to hold a PhD in civil engineering, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, sensing technology, or a related discipline. Experience with distributed sensing, signal processing, programming, experimental design, and interpreting infrastructure data is advantageous. The role also requires strong technical writing, research publication skills, problem-solving ability, and effective collaboration with academic and industry partners. The successful candidate is expected to contribute independently to project delivery, prepare reports and papers, support grant or project objectives, and work safely and professionally in laboratory and field environments.
