Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong employment opportunities in education, research, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, tourism, and professional services. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and generally fast-paced, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle benefits include excellent public transport, high personal safety, efficient services, diverse food, shopping, green spaces, and easy access to regional destinations. Living costs, particularly rent, can be high, so housing and commuting should be planned carefully. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications, and government approval. Relocating usually involves securing employment first, arranging accommodation, obtaining health insurance where appropriate, and bringing certified documents for immigration or employment checks. NTU’s campus is well connected to residential areas and public transport, although it is located in western Singapore.
