Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in education, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, tourism and professional services. The culture is multicultural and generally safe, efficient and English-friendly, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences. Life is convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable healthcare and abundant food options, though housing and daily expenses can be high. Employment usually requires an employer-sponsored work pass; professionals commonly use the Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and Ministry of Manpower requirements. Relocating staff should budget carefully for rent, deposits, insurance and schooling if applicable. Singapore is compact, so commuting to NTU is manageable from areas connected to the western and central MRT networks. The climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
