Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with job opportunities in education, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, government and professional services. The workplace culture is generally structured, fast-paced and multicultural, with emphasis on reliability, performance and respectful communication. Living standards are high, public transport is efficient, and healthcare and public services are well developed. Housing is the main expense, especially in central areas, although suburban locations and shared accommodation can reduce costs. Employment Pass or S Pass approval is required for most foreign professionals and depends on salary, qualifications, experience and employer sponsorship; employers usually submit the application. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, banking, insurance and local transport access. Singapore offers excellent food, safety and convenience, though the climate is hot and humid year-round.
