Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in technology, data analytics, finance, healthcare, education, logistics and advanced manufacturing. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally respectful, with English widely used in workplaces. The lifestyle is convenient: public transport is efficient, healthcare is high quality, and food ranges from affordable hawker meals to international dining. Housing is the main expense, particularly near the city centre, although NTU is served by public transport and is close to residential areas such as Jurong West and Clementi. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work pass, commonly an Employment Pass or S Pass, subject to eligibility, salary and prevailing government rules. Relocating involves arranging accommodation, banking, insurance and possibly schooling. Singapore is warm and humid year-round, with frequent rain. Its compact size makes beaches, parks, cultural districts and neighbouring destinations easy to access.
