Job Description

The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and overhauling mechanical equipment and machinery across industrial or infrastructure projects. Applicants generally need a recognised mechanical trade qualification, relevant Australian experience, strong fault-finding skills and the ability to read technical drawings and manuals. Depending on the worksite, tickets such as confined-space, working-at-heights, rigging or dogging may be required. Candidates are expected to work safely, follow maintenance procedures, complete accurate job records and cooperate with supervisors and other trades. The role may involve outdoor work, shutdowns, rotating rosters, overtime or remote and FIFO assignments, so physical fitness, reliability and flexibility are important.
