Job Description

The Leading Hand Security Technician supervises and performs installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of electronic security systems such as access control, CCTV, alarms and associated communications equipment. Applicants would generally need relevant security-electrical or communications trade qualifications, practical experience with commercial or industrial security systems, and knowledge of Australian standards, site procedures and safety requirements. A security licence, electrical or cabling credentials, a current driver’s licence and the ability to obtain project-specific clearances may be required. The successful candidate is expected to lead a small team, read drawings, coordinate with other trades, complete quality documentation, troubleshoot effectively and communicate professionally with supervisors, clients and subcontractors.
