Major employment centres include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and regional project locations. The lifestyle ranges from busy city living to coastal, rural and outdoor environments, although housing and living costs can be high in major cities. Skilled workers may consider employer-sponsored visas, the Skilled Independent or State Nominated visas, and regional pathways; eligibility depends on occupation, qualifications, English ability, age and experience. Before relocating, check current requirements through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Budget for accommodation, transport, health insurance where required and initial settlement costs.
