Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers nursing opportunities across the NHS, private hospitals, mental health services, care homes and specialist providers such as Elysium Healthcare. Registered nurses usually need valid Nursing and Midwifery Council registration, while overseas applicants may need an approved qualification, English-language evidence, a competency assessment and a Health and Care Worker visa. The UK has a diverse culture, strong public transport in major cities and varied lifestyles, from busy urban centres to quieter coastal and rural communities. London and other large cities offer more international communities and job openings but have higher housing costs. Smaller towns can provide lower living expenses and a calmer pace. Before relocating, candidates should research registration, sponsorship, accommodation, tax, transport, healthcare access and shift patterns, and confirm the employer’s current visa and relocation support.
