The Housekeeping Assistant is responsible for maintaining clean, hygienic and welcoming areas within an Avery care home. Duties typically include cleaning bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms and staff areas, handling laundry, replenishing supplies and following infection-control and health-and-safety procedures. Candidates should be reliable, organised, physically fit enough for regular cleaning duties and comfortable working around older people, including residents with care needs or dementia. Previous housekeeping, cleaning or care-home experience is useful but not always essential, as training may be provided. The successful candidate is expected to work respectfully as part of a team, protect residents’ dignity and privacy, communicate courteously and maintain consistently high standards. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends or bank holidays may be required.
