Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in healthcare, social care, hospitality, retail, logistics, technology and professional services. Its culture is diverse, with strong regional identities, historic towns, major cities and an active arts and sports scene. Lifestyle costs vary considerably: London and the South East are usually most expensive, while many northern and coastal areas are more affordable. Public transport is widely available, although a car may help in rural locations. Most overseas workers need permission to work before arrival. Care and hospitality roles do not automatically qualify for visa sponsorship, so applicants should check the current occupation and sponsorship rules carefully. Eligible workers may need a Skilled Worker visa, while Irish citizens have separate rights. Relocation planning should include accommodation, healthcare access, National Insurance, taxes and proof of funds.
