The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for organising and overseeing the day-to-day maintenance of an Avery care home, helping ensure a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors and staff. Duties typically include scheduling planned and reactive repairs, liaising with contractors, completing maintenance records and checks, monitoring compliance with health and safety requirements, and reporting faults or risks to management. Candidates are expected to have practical maintenance or facilities experience, good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise urgent issues. A basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, heating, fire safety and building systems is useful. Reliability, a proactive approach, attention to detail and sensitivity when working in a residential care setting are essential.
