Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in technology, e-commerce, finance, tourism, software engineering, data, marketing, and customer operations, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Workplaces often value punctuality, teamwork, attention to detail, and respectful communication, although international companies may use English more frequently. Japan provides excellent public transport, reliable infrastructure, safe cities, diverse food, and access to mountains, beaches, and historic communities. Living costs are highest in Tokyo, while regional cities can be more affordable. Foreign professionals generally need a work visa sponsored by an employer; common routes include the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa and the Highly Skilled Professional visa. Applicants should prepare degree and employment documents, arrange housing and health insurance, and understand Japan’s tax and residence-registration procedures. Learning basic Japanese makes daily life and workplace integration easier.
