Job Description

The Permit to Work Manager oversees the planning, approval, issue, suspension and close-out of permit-to-work activities on major construction projects. Requirements typically include substantial experience managing permit systems in construction, infrastructure, mining or other high-risk environments; knowledge of isolations, confined spaces, hot work, working at heights and simultaneous operations; and strong understanding of Australian safety legislation and project procedures. The successful candidate is expected to coordinate with supervisors, engineers, safety teams and subcontractors, maintain accurate records, identify conflicts and hazards, conduct audits, and promote disciplined compliance. Strong communication, organisation, leadership and problem-solving skills are essential, along with relevant safety qualifications and the ability to work across active project sites.
