Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel manufacturing, information technology, tourism, finance, logistics, engineering, healthcare, education, and business services. Colombo and nearby areas have the largest concentration of professional and internship roles, while Kandy, Galle, Katunayake, and other industrial zones also provide employment. The culture is friendly and diverse, combining Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, and other traditions. English is widely used in business, although learning basic Sinhala or Tamil is valuable. Living costs are generally lower than in many international destinations, but Colombo rents can be comparatively high. The island provides beaches, mountains, wildlife, historic cities, and convenient domestic travel. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment or residence visa, arranged with employer support and government approval; tourist status does not permit employment. Relocating candidates should confirm visa rules, accommodation, healthcare, transport, and tax requirements before travelling.
