Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers career opportunities in apparel manufacturing, information technology, finance, tourism, logistics, engineering, healthcare, and business services. Colombo and nearby Western Province provide the widest range of professional roles, while industrial and regional opportunities are available in other areas. The culture is welcoming and diverse, with Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim, and other communities, and English is widely used in business. Life combines affordable living, busy cities, beaches, tea-country scenery, wildlife, and a strong food and festival culture. Accommodation, transport, and dining costs vary, with Colombo being the most expensive area. Foreign nationals generally need an appropriate employment or residence visa sponsored or supported by an employer; working without authorization is not permitted. Candidates should confirm visa rules, medical requirements, taxation, and relocation support with the employer and Sri Lankan authorities before moving.
