Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in engineering, electronics, aerospace, logistics, finance, technology and advanced manufacturing. Its multicultural society blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work and in daily services. The lifestyle is safe and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, efficient healthcare and abundant food, shopping and green spaces. Housing can be expensive, especially in central areas, so newcomers often compare locations near MRT lines and consider shared accommodation. Foreign professionals generally need an Employment Pass or S Pass sponsored by an employer; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and current government rules. Relocating workers should arrange housing, insurance, banking and tax registration, and check dependent-pass requirements if moving with family. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
