Job Description

The Junior Sous Chef supports the Chinese Banquet kitchen by preparing and presenting food to consistent quality, supervising commis chefs and kitchen colleagues, and helping manage banquet preparation, service, stock control, hygiene and food safety. Candidates should have professional Chinese cuisine experience, preferably in a hotel, resort or high-volume banquet operation. Strong knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, portion control and kitchen sanitation is expected. The role requires good teamwork, communication, organisation and the ability to work under pressure during weddings, conferences and large events. A culinary qualification and several years of relevant kitchen experience would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be hands-on, disciplined, creative and willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
