Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across technology, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, manufacturing, finance, education, and renewable energy. Jakarta on Java is the main corporate and technology hub, while Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, digital work, and international communities. Java is generally the most convenient island for career growth and public transport, though living costs and traffic can be high. Bali offers a more relaxed lifestyle but has expensive housing in popular areas. Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and other islands provide opportunities in resources, agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, and regional services. Indonesian culture values politeness, community, family, and religious diversity; Bahasa Indonesia is essential for many jobs. Foreign nationals generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or KITAS, while remote workers must check current immigration rules. Research healthcare, housing, taxes, transport, and local regulations before relocating.
