Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in technology, e-commerce, fintech, logistics, tourism, manufacturing, and sales, especially in Jakarta on Java, as well as Bali, Surabaya, Bandung, and Medan. Java is the country’s main business center, while Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, and an international lifestyle. Indonesian culture generally emphasizes community, respect for elders, religious diversity, and relationship-building; learning Bahasa Indonesia is highly beneficial. Living costs vary widely: Jakarta and Bali can be expensive, while many other cities are more affordable. Traffic, tropical weather, and occasional internet or infrastructure differences should be considered. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an approved work authorization, and the appropriate limited-stay visa or KITAS before working. Requirements change, so candidates should confirm current rules with Grab and Indonesian immigration authorities before relocating.
