Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied career opportunities across technology, digital finance, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, manufacturing, energy and international business. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and startup centre, while Bali attracts roles connected with tourism, hospitality, creative industries and remote work. Surabaya, Bandung and Yogyakarta also have growing business, education and technology communities. Indonesian culture is diverse, community-oriented and shaped by many ethnic groups, languages and religions; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living and extensive food scenes to beaches, nature and a generally lower cost of living than many regional capitals. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work visa and appropriate work permit; tourist or business visas do not authorize employment. Relocation planning should cover housing, health insurance, taxation, transport and local registration. Check current immigration rules with the Indonesian embassy or an authorized employer before moving.
