Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities in technology, finance, operations, logistics, tourism, and digital commerce. Jakarta on Java is the main corporate and technology hub, while Bandung and Surabaya also have strong business communities. Bali offers a relaxed international lifestyle and opportunities in tourism, hospitality, technology, and remote work, though housing can be expensive in popular areas. Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan provide growing opportunities in resources, logistics, agriculture, and regional services. Indonesian culture values community, respect, hospitality, and religious diversity; modest dress and sensitivity to local customs are appreciated. Lifestyle ranges from dense urban living to quieter coastal and island communities, with traffic and humidity important considerations. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or stay permit before working. Employers usually assist with immigration, registration, and relocation, but requirements should be confirmed with Indonesian authorities.
