Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in healthcare, social care, hospitality, cleaning, logistics, construction and professional services. It has a diverse culture, strong public transport in many urban areas and a lifestyle ranging from busy cities to quieter coastal and rural communities. Living costs are generally highest in London and the South East, while many northern regions, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are more affordable. Overseas applicants normally need a visa and the right to work before starting employment. Many healthcare support roles require employer sponsorship only where the occupation and salary meet current immigration rules; housekeeping roles may not qualify for sponsorship, so this must be checked carefully. Relocating usually involves arranging accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking, healthcare access and transport. The UK climate is mild but changeable, with cool winters and frequent rain.
