Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers strong opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, engineering, education, professional services and hospitality. London is the largest financial centre, while Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds also have substantial employment markets. British culture values punctuality, personal privacy, politeness and clear communication, with considerable regional variety. Lifestyle choices range from busy cities and cultural events to coastal areas, countryside and historic towns. Living costs are highest in London and generally lower in Scotland, Wales and northern England. Non-UK nationals normally need a visa to work, commonly through an employer-sponsored Skilled Worker route, and must meet salary, skills and English-language requirements. Relocating involves arranging accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking, healthcare registration and tax documentation. Employers may offer relocation support, but applicants should confirm sponsorship eligibility before accepting an offer.
