Job Description

This role supports Rakuten’s AI governance and risk management activities within the Information Security & Privacy Governance Department. Responsibilities are likely to include identifying and assessing AI-related risks, developing governance standards and controls, monitoring regulatory requirements, supporting privacy and security reviews, and coordinating with technical and business teams. Candidates should have experience in risk management, information security, privacy, compliance, internal controls, or AI governance. Familiarity with Japan’s regulatory environment, global AI regulations, data protection principles, and risk assessment frameworks is valuable. Strong communication, documentation, stakeholder-management, and analytical skills are expected. The successful candidate should be comfortable working across departments, translating complex technology risks into practical recommendations, and helping establish responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI.
