Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, events, retail and customer service, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and resort regions. Workplace culture is generally professional but approachable, with emphasis on teamwork, punctuality, guest care and workplace safety. Melbourne has a lively food, arts and sports scene, excellent public transport and a multicultural lifestyle, although rent and living costs can be high. International applicants need the correct visa: options may include employer-sponsored visas, skilled visas, working holiday visas or student visas with work rights. Requirements vary by nationality, occupation and experience, so applicants should check the Australian Department of Home Affairs website. Relocating usually involves securing a visa, arranging accommodation, obtaining a tax file number and opening a local bank account. Healthcare access depends on visa status and reciprocal agreements, so appropriate insurance is recommended.
