Destination Guide

Al Marjan Island is a man-made waterfront destination in Ras Al Khaimah, around an hour from Dubai. Job opportunities are concentrated in hotels, restaurants, housekeeping, engineering, security, sales, wellness and leisure activities. The culture is welcoming and multicultural, but employees should respect UAE Islamic customs, dress modestly in public areas and follow local laws. Lifestyle is generally relaxed, with beaches, water sports, gyms, malls and desert activities nearby; summer temperatures are extremely hot. Most overseas hospitality employees receive an employer-sponsored UAE work visa, subject to medical checks and official approval. Employers may also provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance and return-flight benefits, but these should be confirmed in the contract. Workers should budget for personal expenses and verify recruitment fees, working hours, accommodation and leave entitlements before relocating.
