Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island country, but Abu Dhabi offers a coastal lifestyle with beaches, islands, waterfront promenades, desert activities, and modern city amenities. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, healthcare, construction, technology, and finance provide major employment opportunities, particularly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress in public places, respect for Islamic customs, and responsible behavior are important. Lifestyle options range from luxury shopping and dining to outdoor activities, cultural attractions, and desert excursions. Most international employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with the employer normally arranging permits, medical checks, and Emirates ID processing. Confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, probation, leave, gratuities, and flight benefits before accepting an offer. Abu Dhabi is generally safe, but living costs can be high without employer-provided housing or allowances.
