Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact Gulf island nation known for its welcoming atmosphere, modern infrastructure, historic sites, beaches, shopping, and diverse dining scene. Employment opportunities are available in hospitality, tourism, retail, finance, construction, healthcare, education, logistics, and technology, with Manama and resort areas attracting many international workers. The culture blends Arab traditions with a relatively liberal, multicultural lifestyle; modest dress and respect for local customs are expected, especially during Ramadan. Daily life is convenient, although summer temperatures are extremely hot and car travel is common. Foreign employees normally require an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit, with medical checks and documentation handled through approved procedures. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, contract terms, and probation conditions. Bahrain’s cost of living can be moderate to high, particularly for private housing, but employer benefits may substantially reduce expenses.
