Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, healthcare, construction, technology and professional services, particularly in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and regional tourist destinations. The culture is generally informal, direct and multicultural, with emphasis on workplace safety, equality and work-life balance. Lifestyle options range from vibrant cities and cafés to beaches, national parks and outdoor sports, although housing and transport costs can be high in major centres. Foreign workers usually need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, skilled migration visa, working holiday visa or student visa with work rights. Requirements vary by nationality, occupation, age and sponsorship. Relocating normally involves securing a job offer, checking visa eligibility, arranging health insurance, tax registration and accommodation, and budgeting for rent, transport and initial living costs.
