Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but Dubai and the other emirates offer strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, bars, tourism, aviation, retail, events, and entertainment. Dubai has a cosmopolitan culture, modern infrastructure, excellent public transport, beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, and an active international social scene. Alcohol is served only in licensed venues, and employees must respect local laws, religious customs, modesty expectations, and public-conduct rules. Most hospitality jobs are sponsored by the employer, who normally arranges the employment residence visa, medical examination, Emirates ID, and work permit. Candidates should confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, flights, and gratuity are included before accepting an offer. Living costs can be high, especially for private housing, while shared accommodation is more affordable. New arrivals should budget for deposits, documentation, transport, and initial expenses.
