Singapore is a compact, safe and highly connected city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics and education. The culture is multicultural, influenced by Chinese, Malay, Indian and international communities, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, beaches and a busy arts and events scene. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central areas, so newcomers often share apartments or live near MRT stations outside the core districts. Foreign workers generally need an appropriate pass arranged by an employer; short-term internships may require a Training Employment Pass, Training Work Permit or another approved arrangement, depending on nationality, programme and eligibility. Candidates should confirm requirements with the employer and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower before travelling. A valid passport, sufficient funds, medical insurance and recognised qualifications may also be required for relocation.
