Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but a federation of seven emirates with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and events. Dubai and Abu Dhabi offer the widest range of hotel and sales positions, including roles supporting Emiratisation programs for UAE nationals. Life is modern, safe and multicultural, with excellent infrastructure, shopping, beaches, restaurants and year-round sunshine. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are comfortable and popular for outdoor activities. English is widely used, although Arabic is valuable for local business and public-sector relationships. Expatriate employees normally need an employer-sponsored residence visa, medical fitness testing and an Emirates ID; UAE nationals do not require an employment visa but still follow local employment procedures. Employers may provide accommodation, transport, insurance or flight benefits, depending on the contract. Applicants should confirm salary, allowances, working hours and benefits before relocating.
