Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. Its portfolio includes the Shangri-La, Kerry, JEN and Traders brands, with a focus on warm Asian hospitality, attentive service and premium guest experiences. Shangri-La properties commonly provide accommodation, restaurants, wellness facilities, meetings and leisure activities. In Malaysia, the group has operated well-known city hotels and resort destinations, employing teams across food and beverage, culinary operations, housekeeping, engineering, guest services and administration. The company generally places strong emphasis on service standards, colleague development, operational discipline, food safety and responsible hospitality. A Hygiene Manager would support these priorities by helping the property meet legal, brand and international food-safety expectations.

Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury resorts, hotels, restaurants, tourism, healthcare, education, technology and business services. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, Redang and parts of Sabah, while Kuala Lumpur and Johor provide broader career markets. The culture is multicultural, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with festivals, varied cuisine and generally welcoming communities. Island life is relaxed and scenic, but employment can be seasonal and transport, housing and healthcare may be more limited than in major cities. Foreign hires normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, and the company must complete the relevant immigration approvals before work begins. Candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, insurance, taxes and relocation support in writing. Research monsoon seasons, local rental costs and commuting options before choosing a resort location. English is widely used in tourism, while Malay is useful for everyday life.
