Destination Guide

Taiwan offers strong opportunities in banking, asset management, technology, manufacturing, healthcare, education, and international business, with Taipei serving as the main financial and corporate center. The culture blends Chinese traditions, Indigenous heritage, Japanese influence, and modern global lifestyles. People generally value courtesy, family, education, reliability, and food culture. Daily life is convenient and relatively affordable, with excellent public transportation, night markets, natural scenery, and easy access to mountains and beaches. Taipei rents are higher than in other cities, while Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung can offer a more relaxed and economical lifestyle. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate resident visa; requirements depend on qualifications, salary, and role. New arrivals should arrange health insurance, tax registration, housing, and local banking. Mandarin is useful for daily life, although many multinational workplaces use English.
