Destination Guide

Taiwan offers opportunities in banking, asset management, technology, manufacturing, semiconductors, trade, education, and professional services, with the strongest concentration in Taipei and New Taipei. The culture combines traditional Chinese customs with a modern, international outlook; respect, reliability, relationship building, and group harmony are important in the workplace. Life is convenient, with excellent public transport, affordable food, lively night markets, mountains, beaches, and extensive healthcare. Taipei is relatively expensive for Taiwan, while cities such as Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung can offer lower living costs. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate resident visa, commonly supported through Taiwan's employment regulations or the Employment Gold Card for eligible specialists. Before relocating, confirm work authorization, tax obligations, health-insurance enrollment, housing arrangements, and whether the employer provides relocation assistance.
