Destination Guide

Singapore is a highly developed city-state and island with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Its culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, reflected in festivals, neighbourhoods and exceptional food. The lifestyle is safe, clean and efficient, with excellent public transport, modern services and plentiful shopping and dining, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored work pass; hospitality professionals commonly use an Employment Pass or S Pass, depending on qualifications, salary and prevailing eligibility rules. Employers usually guide candidates through the application process, but approval is not guaranteed. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, health insurance, banking and transport access before starting work. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
