Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a highly connected international city with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, restaurants, retail, finance, technology, and professional services. Hospitality employees can find roles in luxury hotels, independent properties, clubs, and event venues, particularly in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and the airport area. The culture is fast-paced and multicultural, combining Cantonese traditions with international influences. Public transport is excellent, but housing is expensive and living space is often limited. English is widely used in business and hotels, while Cantonese and Mandarin improve employment prospects. Most overseas employees require an employment visa sponsored by their employer; applications normally require a confirmed job, suitable qualifications, and proof that the role cannot readily be filled locally. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, insurance, banking, and visa documentation before moving. Hong Kong offers vibrant dining, shopping, hiking, beaches, and easy regional travel.
