Job Description

The Cook prepares meals for colleagues in the staff restaurant, following approved recipes, hygiene standards, portion controls and food-safety procedures. Typical requirements include practical cooking experience, preferably in a hotel, restaurant or institutional kitchen; knowledge of basic food preparation, cleanliness and kitchen equipment; and the ability to work efficiently in a team. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an organized workstation, check ingredient quality, reduce waste, follow schedules and support other kitchen duties when required. Shift work, weekends and public holidays may be part of the role. A food-handling certificate, relevant vocational training and good physical stamina would be advantageous.
