Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern, multicultural island city with strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, catering, tourism and food production. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin and other languages can be useful. The lifestyle is safe, efficient and convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable healthcare and a diverse food scene. Living costs, particularly rent, are relatively high, although public housing areas and shared accommodation can reduce expenses. Foreign hospitality workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an S Pass or another appropriate permit, subject to current salary, qualification and quota requirements. Before relocating, candidates should confirm the contract, accommodation arrangements, medical checks, insurance and work-pass approval. Singapore’s warm, humid climate and fast-paced service industry suit people who enjoy urban living and international workplaces.
