Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, tourism, technology, finance and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences reflected in food, festivals and everyday life. Public transport is efficient, safe and widely used, while housing, dining and healthcare are convenient but relatively expensive. Hospitality employees should expect professional standards, warm weather, shift work and a fast-paced environment. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; service and culinary roles may qualify for an S Pass or Work Permit depending on salary, qualifications, nationality and current regulations. Employers commonly assist with applications, but candidates should confirm eligibility before accepting an offer. Relocation usually involves arranging accommodation, medical checks, banking and local tax registration. Singapore’s central location also makes travel throughout Southeast Asia easy.
