Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a dynamic international city made up of Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories, connected by an efficient MTR, ferry and bus network. Hospitality opportunities are concentrated in luxury hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, events and tourism, with strong demand for experienced food and beverage supervisors and managers. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international business influences, festivals, markets and a fast-paced work style. Lifestyle options range from busy nightlife and shopping to beaches, hiking trails and islands such as Lantau and Lamma. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by the hiring company; the employer normally demonstrates that the role cannot easily be filled locally. Applicants should secure a written offer, confirm housing and medical benefits, and budget carefully because rent is high. Hong Kong is compact, safe and convenient, but work schedules in hospitality can include late nights, weekends and public holidays.
