Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, engineering, facilities management, technology, finance, healthcare and logistics. Hotel engineering roles are supported by demand from luxury properties, resorts, serviced residences and commercial buildings. The culture is multicultural, organized and fast-paced, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, safe neighborhoods, diverse food, shopping, parks and easy access to Southeast Asia. Living costs, especially rent, can be high, so shared accommodation or employer-supported housing may be worth considering. Foreign professionals generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or relevant Work Permit; eligibility depends on qualifications, salary and current government criteria. Applicants should confirm requirements with the employer and Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Relocation is straightforward but requires planning for housing, healthcare, banking, transport and local employment regulations.
