Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Island-based roles are especially common in hotels, restaurants, events, diving, wellness and guest services. Penang combines historic streets, strong local food culture and urban convenience, while Langkawi offers a quieter resort lifestyle, beaches and outdoor activities. Malaysian culture is diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, although Malay is the national language. Living costs vary, with resort islands sometimes more expensive for accommodation and imported goods. Foreign employees normally need an employment pass arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, medical coverage, taxes and dependent arrangements in the offer. Relocation is generally straightforward when documentation and employer sponsorship are secured.
