Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, events and tourism, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other coastal destinations. Island life is generally relaxed, warm and community-oriented, with affordable local food, diverse cultural traditions and easy access to beaches, nature and water activities. English is widely used in hospitality, while Malay is the national language; Chinese and Indian cultural influences are also prominent. Overseas employees normally require an Employment Pass, which must be sponsored and arranged by the employer before working. Relocation packages vary and may include accommodation, transport, meals or medical benefits. Costs are higher in resort areas during tourist seasons, so candidates should confirm housing, contract terms, tax treatment and flights. Malaysia has a tropical climate, with humidity and monsoon conditions varying by region.
